Старый немецкий карьер "Вальтер" по добыче янтаря - ныне озеро Синявинское, янтарь там добывался открытым способом с 1913 г. по 1970 г., и после был затоплен родниковыми и грунтовыми водами. Площадь этого водоёма - 111 га, глубина до 28 метров, видимость до 15 метров, и есть интересные объекты для дайвинга, в том числе и затопленный старый троллейбус.
Великолепное место для дайвинга.

Совсем недалеко от поселка Янтарный на другом краю живописного озера Синявинское в поселке с похожим названием Синявино, с 1999 года работает дайвинг клуб «КУСТО», в котором тоже есть школа обучения дайвингу по самой распространенной в мире системе PADI от новичка до инструктора.
